  • Betrayal in the city

FRANCIS IMBUGA is not only a renowned Kenyan play-wright, but he is also an actor who has performed in many plays both on stage and on television. He was the recipient of the inaugural Kenya National Academy of Sciences Distinguished Professional Award in Play Writing for 1986. Among his other published plays are The Burning of Rags, Game of Silence, The Successor, Man of Kafira and Aminata, all published in the E.A.E.P. Drama Library.

Betrayal in the City was first published in 1976 and in 1977, was Kenya’s national entry to the Second World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture in Lagos, Nigeria. The play is an incisive, thought-provoking examination of the problems of independence and freedom in post-colonial African states where a sizeable number of people feel that their future is either blank or bleak. In the words of Mosese, one of the characters, “It was better while we waited. Now we have nothing to look forward to. We have killed our past and are busy killing our future”.

  • Cambridge IGCSE (TM) Physics Workbook with Digital Access (2 Years)

By (author)  David Sang , By (author)  Darrell Hamilton

Skills focused series, working towards endorsement, for examination from 2023; inspired by teachers, for teachers. This write-in workbook with digital access is the perfect companion to the coursebook. Learners have the opportunity to practice their essential science skills, including data presentation and analysis, consolidate their understanding, and apply their learning to new situations. Exercises are structured into three levels of increasing complexity: ‘focus, practice and challenge’. They first develop learners’ foundation skills, consolidate these skills through practice and then target higher order thinking skills. As an exercise progresses, the amount of support is also reduced, enabling students to become confident, responsible learners. Answers for all questions and exercises can be found online at www.cambridge.org/go

    By (author)  Evans Chikasa

Support teachers and learners through the Cambridge IGCSE (TM) Information & Communication Technology syllabuses (0983/0417). This workbook supplements the coursebook, strengthening learners’ practical skills by providing additional practical tasks, worked examples and key words, as well as a wealth of source files. Our research informs us that teachers want activities to reach students of all levels of understanding, particularly when it comes to practical skills. A three-tiered approach to practical tasks throughout our workbook develops fundamental skills with ‘Getting started’ and ‘Practice’ tasks, and stretches more confident students with ‘Challenge’ tasks, for use at home or in class. Answers are accessible to teachers for free on the Cambridge GO platform.
